Condition
Concussion.
A concussion is a brain injury caused by a hit, fall, collision, or force that makes the brain move rapidly inside the skull.
What patients notice
Symptoms can include headache, dizziness, nausea, light sensitivity, brain fog, mood changes, sleep changes, balance problems, or symptoms that worsen with school, work, or exercise.
Concussion care includes symptom monitoring, academic or work guidance, and a stepwise return-to-activity plan. Same-day medical care is important for worsening headache, repeated vomiting, seizure, weakness, confusion, or loss of consciousness.
How it is treated
Treatment starts with confirming the diagnosis, identifying symptom triggers, and creating a gradual plan for school, work, exercise, and sport.
Dr. Jones can guide return-to-play decisions and coordinate vestibular, vision, or headache-focused therapy when symptoms linger.
