Condition
Shoulder and rotator cuff pain.
Shoulder pain is common in athletes and active adults, especially with lifting, reaching, throwing, swimming, or overhead work.
What patients notice
Symptoms can include pain with overhead motion, weakness, night pain, stiffness, or difficulty reaching behind the back. Rotator cuff tendinopathy, bursitis, impingement, arthritis, and instability are common causes.
Evaluation helps determine whether symptoms are from the rotator cuff, joint, neck, or surrounding muscles.
How it is treated
Most shoulder conditions start with restoring mobility, improving shoulder blade and rotator cuff strength, and modifying aggravating movements.
If pain persists, Dr. Jones can evaluate whether imaging, ultrasound-guided injection, PRP, or specialist referral is appropriate.
