PRP education

PRP for hamstring tendonitis.

Hamstring tendonitis often causes deep buttock or posterior thigh pain, especially with running, sitting, hinging, or explosive sport movements.

How PRP may help

PRP may be considered for chronic proximal hamstring tendinopathy after careful diagnosis, load management, and rehabilitation.

Evidence note

Evidence is still developing. Published work includes clinical studies and systematic reviews of proximal hamstring tendinopathy interventions, with PRP among studied options. Fader et al., 2015; Systematic review, 2021

When to schedule

Schedule if posterior hip or hamstring pain persists, limits running, or has not improved with therapy and activity changes.
