PRP education

PRP for knee arthritis.

Knee osteoarthritis can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and reduced confidence with walking, stairs, exercise, and sport.

How PRP may help

For selected patients with mild-to-moderate knee arthritis, PRP may be used as part of a non-operative plan that includes strength, movement, weight-management support when relevant, and activity modification.

Evidence note

Knee osteoarthritis is one of the better-studied PRP indications. Meta-analyses of randomized trials have reported pain and function improvements, particularly in short-term follow-up and compared with some injection alternatives. Tan et al., 2021; Dong et al., 2021

When to schedule

Schedule if knee arthritis limits daily activity or you want to discuss non-operative injection options.
