PRP education

PRP for shoulder arthritis.

Shoulder arthritis can cause pain, stiffness, loss of motion, and difficulty reaching, lifting, or sleeping comfortably.

How PRP may help

PRP may be discussed for selected shoulder arthritis patients when symptoms persist despite therapy, activity changes, and other non-operative strategies.

Evidence note

Shoulder arthritis PRP research is smaller than knee arthritis research. A randomized, double-blind trial compared leukocyte-poor PRP with hyaluronic acid for glenohumeral osteoarthritis. Kirschner et al., 2022

When to schedule

Schedule if shoulder arthritis affects sleep, daily activity, lifting, or overhead motion.
