What patients notice
Symptoms can include pain with overhead motion, lifting, throwing, reaching behind the back, or sleeping on the shoulder. Weakness or stiffness may also be present.
How it is treated
Care often focuses on restoring shoulder mobility, improving rotator cuff and shoulder blade strength, reducing painful overload, and guiding a return to sport or overhead activity.
When tenotomy may be discussed
For select chronic tendon problems that have not improved with conservative care, ultrasound evaluation may help determine whether percutaneous tenotomy is appropriate.
When to schedule
Schedule a visit if shoulder pain is persistent, interfering with sleep, or limiting work, lifting, throwing, or training.
